This house, located in Estreito da Calheta, is characterized by a living space with extra height, which stems from the owner’s desire to give the bedrooms a direct connection to this living space. The natural profile of the site rises slightly to the north. By placing the bedrooms on the north side of the house, they stay cool in the summer, and through the large sliding doors to the living room you can enjoy the sea view on the south side from the bedrooms at the same time. The busy access road is approximately 3m below ground level. At the level of the street, a parking facility is created, together with a separate access for pedestrians. Pedestrians first enter a patio with a fish pond, a place to relax, before entering the house.
