Located in the Mladost 3 neighbourhood in Sofia, Bulgary, the new Collider Activity Center will be a place were active people gather to do sports, relax or just join each other’s company.
We created a triangular public square at the street side of the building site which gives the front facade of the centre a diagonal position to the street that makes it stand out and gives an optimal orientation facing the Vitosha Mountain, South-West of the plot.
A huge opening in the volume of the building, were the climbing hall is located, connects the square and the park visually and exposes the climbing activities to the public on the square. Towards the park the climbing hall has huge hangar doors that can open with good weather or when there is a special event. The climbing hall can then function as a stage to make presentations of new products, do climbing shows, have dance events or even music concerts. Around the climbing hall, the functions are organized in such a way that they are visually connected to the hall or each other, according to what’s appropriate.
