This villa is constructed in the neighbourhood Ajuda in Funchal. Although it is one of the first to be built in the block, in the future it will be partly surrounded with other villas at relative close distance. Therefore we decided to direct each of the bedrooms on the first floor to their own private terrace, instead of to the exterior. Each of the terraces have a wooden finishing and feature a vertical garden, creating a distictive volume that will be a recognizable point in the neighbourhood. At the back of the house, an underground patio will bring natural light and ventilation to the basement level and function as a secluded little garden.
